Beginning Handgun – Introduction ( 3 hrs )

This course teaches you the Basics of  safe handling of firearms, legalities of firearm Laws, firearms actions, nomenclature and ammunition.  You will gain the comfort level necessary to continue your firearm’s training with confidence.

Everything needed for this course will be supplied by Securité Gun Club including personal protection equipment, ammunition and firearms.   You will experience a range of handguns including   .22 , 9mm  and 45 caliber semiautomatic pistols.

We offer specific Editions of this class geared to Women, Children and new  handgun owners.

It is our goal to make everyone feel SAFE, COMFORTABLE, and CONFIDENT with a firearm.

BONUS:  Beginner class includes a free Safety Pass, good for one free visit to the range.

Beginner Handgun 2 – Marksmanship- 3hrs

A three hour course designed for people who have some familiarity with handguns and want to develop a strong foundation in safe gun handling, technique and marksmanship.
Pre-requisites of this course is Beginning Handgun Level 1 or Instructor authorization.

Everything needed for this course will be supplied by Securité Gun Club.

Class Times and Availability

Defensive Handgun 1 – 8 hrs

This course covers the basics for proper un-holstering and re-holstering of handguns. Essential magazine loads and re-loads and the rational of each technique.   You will learn the basics of Mindset, conditions of alertness and the understanding of de-escalation of force that pertains to the use of a firearm in self-defense.

Pre-requisites of this course is completion of Handgun Fundamentals Development or instructor approval.
Customer must supply all of own equipment.

  • A semi-automatic handgun in good working condition
  • A strong side, outside the waistband hip holster placed in the 3 – 4 o’clock position specific to the student’s handgun made of non-collapsible sturdy leather or Kydex.
  • At least three magazines for the student’s handgun
  • At least one magazine pouch
  • A sturdy belt that will fit your holster and magazine pouches
  • Proper attire, pants with belt loops that will fit your belt and close-toed shoes
  • 250 rounds of brass cased/ copper jacketed factory loaded ammunition. Round count may vary from class to class.
  • Adequate hearing and eye protection
  • Inside the waist band holsters, Blackhawk Serpa holsters, Sig Sauer finger release retention holsters and Uncle Mike’s soft sided holsters or their equivalents are strictly prohibited.

 

Class Times and Availability

Advanced Defensive Handgun 2  – 8 hrs

This course continues with advanced fundamentals learned in Defensive Handgun 1 and teaches you one handed shooting both strong and support side, injured shooting drills, malfunctions and resolutions (stoppage drills) and progresses quickly into an emphasis on applying more advanced techniques under more difficult real-life situations.

Pre-requisites of this course is completion of Defensive Handgun 1 or instructor approval.
Customer must supply all of own equipment:

  • A semi-automatic handgun in good working condition
  • A strong side, outside the waistband hip holster placed in the 3 – 4 o’clock position specific to the student’s handgun made of non-collapsible sturdy leather or Kydex.
  • At least three magazines for the student’s handgun
  • At least two magazine pouches

Class Times and Availability

Beginning Carbine – 4½ hrs

This course teaches you the Basics of Awareness in Safe Handling of an AR-15, Basic field strip, cleaning procedures and nomenclature.
You will be taught the basics of marksmanship to include fundamentals, proper technique, trajectory of bullets and basic shooting positions.

Customer must supply all of own equipment:

  • An AR-15 with iron sights and an optic as an additional option (each student must bring their own)
  • Ammunition: 60 rounds of brass cased, copper jacketed ammunition.
  • At least two AR-15 magazines
  • An adjustable sling that will allow shooter to carry across shoulder and appropriate hardware to attach it to your rifle. Two point recommended. Please contact range staff if you have any questions on purchasing the correct sling
  • Eye and ear protection 
  • Recommended but not required gear includes: shooting mat, front sight tool, magazine pouches
Class Times and Availability

Defensive Carbine 1  – 8 hrs

Defensive Carbine 1 In this course you will learn continuation of carbine fundamentals, reiteration of proper hand coordination and placement, considerations of proper gear placement, necessary mags changes, adaptable shooting positions and support-side transition technique.

Pre-requisites of this course is completion of Beginning Carbine or instructor approval.
Customer must supply all of own equipment:

  • An AR-15 with iron sights and an optic as an additional option (each student must bring their own)
  • Ammunition: 400 rounds of brass cased, copper jacketed ammunition.
  • At least three AR-15 magazines and two adequate magazine pouches
  • An adjustable sling that will allow shooter to carry across shoulder and appropriate hardware to attach it to your rifle. Two point recommended. Please contact range staff if you have any questions on purchasing the correct sling
  • Eye and ear protection
